Kenneth Schwartz
Message from the President
July 18, 2014
Dear LMU Community:
It is with great sadness that I share with you the passing of Kenneth Schwartz, a seven-year part-time staff member in the Theatre Arts Department, who died Thursday, July 17, after a short bout with cancer. He was 68.
He was a prop master and master carpenter, and was beloved by students to the extent that his life story was depicted in “April 6,” a play written by Mara De La Rosa ’14 and performed by LMU theatre students during their 2013-14 season. Prior to coming to LMU, he was a successful business owner of a cabinet shop in Las Vegas for more than 25 years.
Kenneth is survived by his sister, Maxine Walsleben of Los Angeles.
A memorial service will take place on Monday, July 21, at 1 p.m. at Malinow and Silverman Mortuary, 7366 Osage Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90045.
Please keep Kenneth and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Sincerely,
David W. Burcham
President
